About the Poetry

All of the poems in this blog are spirit-inspired. Every word came to me each day for a full year while in deep meditation. I simply wrote what I heard onto a pad of paper in my lap with eyes closed – meaningful, multi-stanza verses in mere minutes. I was unaware of each poem’s theme until I transcribed it later word for word. Each day brought new and wondrous discoveries about the world beyond our five physical senses, incredible wisdom, and messages of hope which I share with you in this blog. The last poems received are displayed below on this page, but the entire collection of 365+ poems are archived here in the left-hand column. You can search by topic or keyword using the search box in the upper left corner. May you find among them just the right message which speaks to your heart.

Poem #198 - About Music

A tone goes up, a tone goes down
Creating harmony with the sound.
Music is a lovely gift
That’s meant to give your soul a lift.

Break down the sound and you will see
That like all else, it’s energy.
Each specific tone vibration
Imparts a noticeable sensation.

Certain combos lift your mood.
While others make you sit and brood.
And all do your consciousness affect
Far more deeply than you’d suspect.

Choose the sounds you listen to.
Know that their effect is true.
When the finer tones you feel,
Then music can be used to heal.

  1. "Music is a lovely gift that's meant to give your soul a lift." Music is a healing vibration...a fact that I have experienced in my life. I often find myself humming or singing. Yes, music brings harmony to the soul as well, and I am thankful for this gift. But we are cautioned in this poem to "Choose the sounds you listen to..."

May we all feel the "finer tones" today...

  2. This poem speaks to me today. At my class this morning there was music playing in the background, where the cosmetology students work, and it was very hard for me to tune this out and listen to our instructor at the same time.

Music really speaks to the soul and just like silence it can have a strong impact on your
state of mind and mood."Know their effect is true."

I'm always amazed when I'm out and about that so many places have loud music blasting instead of calming melodies. To me, silence is music to my ear...
