About the Poetry

All of the poems in this blog are spirit-inspired. Every word came to me each day for a full year while in deep meditation. I simply wrote what I heard onto a pad of paper in my lap with eyes closed – meaningful, multi-stanza verses in mere minutes. I was unaware of each poem’s theme until I transcribed it later word for word. Each day brought new and wondrous discoveries about the world beyond our five physical senses, incredible wisdom, and messages of hope which I share with you in this blog. The last poems received are displayed below on this page, but the entire collection of 365+ poems are archived here in the left-hand column. You can search by topic or keyword using the search box in the upper left corner. May you find among them just the right message which speaks to your heart.

Poem #200 - On Perfection

Perfection comes at a cost.
With it creativity is lost.
When you make things so exact
There can be no room to act.

This life is all about your growth.
No need to stand and take an oath.
It’s all a case of trial and error.
Perfection only leads to terror.

Fear not that you won’t get things right.
Play like a child – with sheer delight.
For that is why you’re here, you see:
To learn and grow and play with glee.

Study hard your habitual actions.
Do you always have the same reactions?
What would happen if you try
Something new? D’you think you’ll die?

Failure’s only a belief.
One that’s sure to cause you grief.
All acts are neutral, can’t you see?
Know this and you will be set free.

To live and serve is your great role.
In this way you become whole.
So worry not if perfection eludes you.
It’s false belief that still deludes you.

You are perfection at your core.
So strive to be it never more.
Relax and focus your attention
On being love – release the tension.

Only when you are thus freed
Will your emotions cease to bleed.
You will create a world of peace
When all your striving you release.

  1. A reminder today from the world of spirit to live our lives in love rather than striving for perfection. "Relax and focus your attention on being love..."

"Failure's only a belief." A good motto for the classroom as well as for all of life. We must set ourselves free to learn and grow and love.

On to "learning and growing and playing with glee" this day...

  2. Fabulous Poem! This one speaks to me too as I strive to perfect my skills as a Nail Technician. Everything flows better when we are not tense and worried.

This reminds me of a dream I had last night where I was asked to close my eyes and walk to a desk to open a drawer. In this dream,I actually floated my way to this desk, eyes closed, with no tension and stress in my body. It was like being in a meditative trance and my long travel to this desk seemed to flow perfectly.

I like the line "To live and learn is your great role, in this way you become whole."

Experience is our teacher and by living life in a way that also brings happiness and peace to others is a spiritual treasure that lasts forever...
